Implement geocoding (finding a location based on an input name) using our map. Learn how to center the view of the map on a specified set of coordinates. Learn how to implement a a basic map display from the Google Maps API, how to overlay information on that map, and how to cause the map and its overlays to respond to touch events. Register new activities and set permissions in the manifest file for using the mapping API, and obtain a key and register your app to permit Google Maps to be deployed in it. Launch new screens based on widget actions, using Intents. Read and interpret input in textfields, and limit the type of data that the textfield will accept. Implement layouts involving editable textfields and buttons. Let us now construct a more extensive project that will show how to use the Google mapping libraries to add new functionalities to that possible with the Android API alone.
